KYRIMI INN is located in the small village of Gerolimenas. Together with KYRIMAI hotel right next to us and before it was divided, it was a single property belonging to my parents. I grew up here with my other eight siblings. By comparison to surrounding villages and the rest of Greece, today’s Gerolimenas historically is rather “contemporary”. The first home was built y the Petrakakos fam ly very late in the19th century KYRIMI INN incorporated old ruins with traditional construction, under the strict supervision and design of the renown and dedicated anthropologist and Mani architect, Yannis Saitas, who is also credited to have refurbished the must see traditional Vathia village.
KYRIMI INN is an authentic stone structure, each stone hand prepared utilizing fourth generation Mani masons to sculpture it. Originally built as the summer home for ourselves and children, it was later licensed and converted to a small and unique Bed and Breakfast now called KYRIMI INN.
We are very spacious. We have five suites that have individual verandas to sit back, relax, and enjoy looking out at the turquoise sea of the bay. If you enjoy cooking or making your own breakfast, there is a fully equipped kitchen waiting for you. Of course, you also have the option of having us serve you our famous “to order” egg breakfast with all the trimmings on our main outdoor view terrace or inside our large dining room for a small extra charge.
We are a few steps from the rocky beach that you can access from the public jetty or nearby stairs. We have an outdoor shower available for you to rinse off the salt water. You can also enjoy the sun by laying on our own private lounge chairs with umbrellas. If a sandy beach is preferred, please just ask us about Marmari.
With prior notice we will most likely be able to provide you space in our own private parking. The KYRIMI INN has a very large open air terrace facing the sea with chairs and tables for you to enjoy. We also have a comfortable sitting room, dining room, and a large kitchen on the main floor that is available for you to celebrate a special event.
While you will be the ultimate judge we want you to know that we are graded 9.7 out of 10.0 by our guests according to booking.com, which is the best in Gerolimenas for 2025. We have been honored to host all kinds of beautiful people from all parts of the world. We were especially blessed to be in contact and exchange ideas with the late travel writer, Patrick Lee Fermour, and very privileged to host professor Andrew Wilson of the University of Oxford who translated Harry Potter in ancient Greek and gifted us an autographed copy.
There are several sites that can be visited from here in a reasonable time such as: the Historical Sparta with King Leonidas and his 300 hundred, Mistras and the seat of Paleologi, the last emperors of Byzantium, as well as the amazing Monemvasia. Of course there is plenty just around the corner to visit: the Caves of Dyros, Vathia, Cape Tainaro, Kainipolis, Tigani Castle, and many inspiring Byzantine Churches.
During the day accept Poseidon’s invitation to share his sea kingdom. Rest afterwards and feel God Helios’ sun caress your body and Zephyr blow a cooling breeze over you. In the evening allow Dionysus to guide you to several local tavernas and beyond to medieval Areopolis. Relax on your veranda with a glass of good wine while listening to your favorite music in the background. Climb on the ethereal notes way up amongst the clouds and look at the end of the horizon where the blue sea meets the sky and the surf whispers welcome.
